A friend who knows what’s happening nearby.
IRL helps you find the local things you’ll be glad you went to, then gives you a little nudge to get out the door.
Why we’re building IRL
Finding something good to do can take more work than actually going. A neighborhood concert is tucked into a venue calendar. A free museum night shows up in a newsletter. A tiny festival gets one post in a fast-moving feed. The best local events are everywhere, which makes them hard to find.
We started IRL with a simple idea: what if the friend who always knows what’s going on could meet you right where you already make plans? IRL brings local events together, pays attention to what you enjoy, and texts you a few picks that feel worth your time.
The point isn’t to find more things to scroll past. It’s to find one good thing and go.
Local first. Personal by design.
We’re starting in the Bay Area with free and inexpensive events, from music and art to food, classes, and neighborhood gatherings. Each event has its own page with the details you need and a link to its organizer.
Tell IRL what you like, where you’ll go, and what you want to spend. Your picks are shaped by what you choose to share, and you can always text IRL when you want an idea. We’ll grow to more cities as we build the local coverage to make each one useful.
